Here are some of our favorite food trucks and food truck parks in Springfield.

Note:

Our aim is to document the town but we can’t find everything yet! If there’s a favorite food truck of yours (or you own a food truck) that we don’t have in this post, please share it with us by reaching out here and we’ll include it on this list as soon as possible.

Speedy’s Cowabunga

Speedy’s Cowabunga is a stationary food truck that serves up a range of authentic Hawaiian and Island-style food in the Springfield, Mo. area.

What They Offer:

From wings, to shrimp, to Luau Chicken Tacos, to Kalua Pork Tacos and Pulled-pork Sliders, you’ll find everything you need to get your Island food/Hawaiian fix right here in Springfield at Speedy’s Cowabunga

Prices:

Prices range from $2 fries and mini egg rolls, to $6 Kalua pork tacos, to 8$ 6-wing meals.

Must Try:

A must-try from Speedy’s Cowabunga is the Speedy’s Wing Meal. 6 wings, basted in your flavor of choice, served with signature fries and honey biscuits. BOOM.

The Pitch

The Pitch Pizza & Pub food truck basically offers a condensed version of what they serve in their physical location. In other words… awesome pizza and calzones!

What They Offer:

You can get a range of classic and not-so-classic pizza options here.

Prices:

Prices range from $13 for a 9” pizza, up to $23 for a full-fledged 18”.

Must Try:

If you’re a pizza lover, you can’t skimp out on the classic Pitch Pizza. Pesto, pepperoni, salami, pepperoncinis, red onions, fresh mozzarella, and balsamic reduction drizzle make this a revised version of an age-old Italian classic.

In addition to a restaurant on E. Sunshine, The Pitch’s food truck is parked by 4 by 4 Brewing Co. in the heart of Galloway Village at 2811 E. Galloway St. Springfield, Missouri.

Down South Fried Fish Co.

Down South Fried Fish Co. has spent years perfecting the art of fried fish. Even if your not a “fish person,” (but especially if you are!) you need to try Down South Fried Fish Co.

What They Offer:

Growing up in the south John has been perfecting his batter recipe for years and introducing tens of thousands to the best-fried fish. Now with Down South Fried Fish Co., he’s bringing that fish frying expertise to 417 with their food truck.

In addition to fried fish and amazing southern hospitality, John (and his wife Rhonda) create perfectly seasoned fries, dipping sauces, and offer bottled drinks.

Must Try:

The fried fish!

And, the dipping sauces even though you won’t need them!

Cold Patrol

The cold patrol receives up to $2,000 of ice cream donations from Hiland Dairy for Springfield Police officers to “serve” annually.

What They Offer:

In addition to free ice cream, the cold patrol offers smiles and love from Springfield officers, their goal is to bridge the gaps and help “families to see their local police officers as approachable people who are here to help whenever needed.”

Must Try:

When you get the chance to stumble upon the Cold Patrol, try anything but especially, try saying thanks to these rock star sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, moms, and dads that serve Springfield each day.

Where to find them:

There’s no “schedule” or single location for the cold patrol, this free ice cream truck is all over!

Pineapple Whip

Pineapple Whip is a remarkable “ice cream” dessert that’s like no other.

What They Offer:

They offer lots of flavors for you to try, including the original pineapple flavor (same recipe since 1974!,) strawberry-kiwi, banana-pomegranate, and more!

Prices:

Prices for their standard 6 oz cup of whip is $3.00 and they have a punch card so you can earn FREE whips!

Must Try:

The original pineapple whip is where you have to start, what else has been going strong for almost half of a century?!

Tacos El Champu

Stop at this truck to find authentically mexican food that is fresh made and oh-so-full of flavor.

What They Offer:

Tacos El Champu offers anything mexican food related that can fit in a shell can be found at the food truck.  They have a variety of street taco options (I can’t decide if I love the shrimp or asada street tacos the most), burritos as big as your face, crispy quesadillas, and a plethora of other mouth watering options.  Don’t forget to grab some of their mouth-watering salsa with anything you order!

Prices:

Street tacos start at just $2, quite a few other options are $8 and under, and they have specialty items like Caldo De Cameron (mexican shrimp soup) that go up to $15.

Must Try:

You could try absolutely anything at this mexican food truck and your taste buds would be doing the happy dance!  With tacos at only $2, I would suggest trying 4 different tacos to start.  Their tacos are made fresh, topped with a good helping of cilantro and onions (among other things, depending on the taco you get.)

Where to find them:

Tacos El Champu (alongside a few other food trucks) can be found in the front of the parking lot at 2348 S Campbell Ave in Springfield.  This amazing food truck is the red food truck in the middle.

London Calling Pasty Company

London Calling Pasty Company is an iconic British restaurant food truck that specializes in gourmet pasties and classic British dishes. For those who aren’t familiar, a ‘pasty’ is a buttery, flaky shell of pie crust that’s stuffed with delicious and savory ingredients. You can get steak, onion, potato, rutabaga, and more stuffed into your pasty at London Calling Pasty Company. 

What They Offer:

From traditional (and not so traditional) pasties, to classic British dishes like Shepherd’s pie and Fish & Chips (available at the mall location only), London Calling Pasty Company truly seems committed to bringing the authentic taste of London to the streets of Springfield, Mo. And they succeed in truly ‘British’ style.

Prices:

A traditional ‘Oggie’ pasty will cost you $7.99 at London Calling. Shepherd’s Pie is priced at $8.99, and a side of fresh cut chips (fries) costs just $2.99. But they also offer occasional meal deals, so make sure to ask them if they’re running any specials at the moment.

Must Try:

You’ve got to go traditional with the ‘Oggie’ for this one. This delicious pasty is stuffed with tender bites of steak, golden potato, onion, and rutabaga. Incredible! But don’t discount the ‘Bangers & Mash’ either. This dish offers sausage seasoned with herbs and parmesan, buried in whipped mashed potatoes, and stuffed into a flaky crust.

Route 66 Food Truck Park

If you’re truly interested in some food truck goodness here in the Queen city of the Ozarks, then your first stop should definitely be the Route 66 Food Truck Park. 

It’s located at 1530 E St Louis Street Springfield, MO.

There’s always a range of food options available, and you’ll be surprised at the variety.
